Volunteer Opportunity: Support Group Meeting Childcare Volunteers Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of families affected by autism? Do you have experience or understanding of autism and a heart for providing support? If so, we have a rewarding volunteer opportunity for you! We are seeking compassionate individuals to volunteer as childcare assistants during our upcoming Autism Parent Support Group Meeting. This meeting will bring together parents who have children on the autism spectrum, providing them with a safe and supportive environment to share experiences, insights, and resources. Volunteer Responsibilities: Engage with and supervise children in a designated area at the back of the meeting room. Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for children to play, engage in activities, and socialize with other children. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care. Be mindful of each child's individual needs and preferences. Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere for both children and parents attending the support group meeting. Volunteer Qualifications: Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or other special needs, is preferred but not required. Understanding and empathy towards individuals and families affected by autism. Patience, kindness, and a non-judgmental attitude. Ability to communicate effectively with children and parents. Willingness to adhere to confidentiality guidelines regarding sensitive information shared during the meeting. The Freddie Ford Family Foundation is hosting it's Annual Heroes for Autism 5k and Mile race July 19th at Queeny Park in St. Louis County. This is our largest community event and we need assistance with event setup, registration, phography, event activities and cleanup. This event is in line with our mission of supporting under-served families impacted by autism and raising awareness and acceptance of autism. We need additional pre-race volunteers with event marketing and obtaining vendors/sponsors for anyone who wants to help.

Camp Ausome's mission is to provide a safe space for children with autism ages 6-11, to engage in summer camp activities with professional staff and volunteers familiar with autism. The vision is to give children the opportunity to play safely with a compassionate staff that is aware of their abilities and needs. We want to give the children support in learning social skills and participating in activities. Camp activities would include free play, sports, music therapy, yoga, games and crafts. The activities will encourage participation at any skill level. The goal is to be safe and have fun! The location is still undetermined. Howeverit will be in St. Charles or Chesterfield. Expect campers to be able to engage in physical activity. The maximum number of campers is 10. Volunteers will help facilitate activities, help engage campers and provide support for staff and campers based on qualifications. Volunteers will participate in activities to encourage campers. We welcome Volunteers seeking internship and practicum experience. Specific skills that are a plus are autism experience and knowledge, crafting experience, first aid training, nursing skills, childcare experience, creative and outgoing personality. We are willing to work shifts and will try to be flexible with volunteer schedules.

The Website Coordinator works independently on website updates but collaborates with the Marketing, Social Media, and Communication Coordinators to keep information accurate and up to date.
