"We Honor Veterans" is a program that empowers hospices and community organizations to meet the unique needs of America’s Veterans and their families by offering guidance and resources focused on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening, and grateful acknowledgment so that Veterans can be guided toward a more peaceful ending. Join us in serving those who have served us. As a Veteran volunteer, we will pair you with other veterans on Hospice of the Piedmont's services to offer companionship and share in life review, as well as provide respite for the caregivers of our Veteran patients. Additionally, several of our Veteran volunteers offer pinning ceremonies to Veteran patients and their families to honor their service. All Hospice of the Piedmont volunteers are screened and background-checked. Volunteers must be age 18-years of age or older, vaccinated for Covid-19, and complete a 12-hour training session/orientation.
