Mission Statement

We make a steadfast promise to our patients to listen, care and serve as a trusted partner devoted to providing the highest-quality hospice and palliative care and to serve with compassion bringing peace during this season of life

Description

Hospice care is provided to patients and their families with a focus on care, dignity and comfort rather than curing. Hospice provides a variety of services including pain symptom management with emotional and spiritual support. Support is also provided to the patients' loved ones. All provided care is tailored to the wishes and needs of the particular patient and their family. Services are available to patients with any terminal illness, of any race, religion or age. Volunteer support is an important and valuable benefit of hospice care.
Trained volunteers play an important role in the interdisciplinary hospice team that also includes physicians, nurses, social workers, clergy, administrators and various therapists that provide physical, emotional and spiritual comfort to persons with life-limiting illnesses.
Volunteers allow the caregivers to run short errands, relieve stress on the family, and provide emotional support. These are individuals who agree to provide services without monetary compensation. Patient care volunteers provide psychosocial support during the remaining days of the patient’s life, while bereavement care volunteers provide psychosocial support to the surviving family following the patient’s death
