Mission Statement

The California State Guard (CSG) is one branch of the California Military Department. It's mission is to protect California and its citizens from natural and man-made disasters, including wildfires, floods, earthquakes, and pandemics. It was formed to provide California with a trained and organized force in the event of a state security or state emergency. The CSG service members train and prepare for these emergencies. In the last few years, the CSG has kept California and its citizens safe in many ways, including: pandemics, wildfires, earthquakes, floods, severe storms, and pandemics.

Description

The California State Guard (CSG) is a volunteer force that protects California and its citizens from natural and man-made disasters, including wildfires, floods, earthquakes, and pandemics. It was formed to provide California with a trained and organized force in the event of a state security or state emergency.

The 163d Support Wing at the March Air Reserve Base, a component of the CSG, is looking for those that would like to serve and volunteer by putting their community first. We are looking for those willing to help our Wing's mission from volunteer positions related to search and rescue, fire hand crews, mission support, security force, and cybersecurity.

Service requirements include 1 weekend a month (first weekend of the month).

When activated by the state for a mission, State Guard members are paid on State Active Duty. Guard members are also eligible for free tuition at any accredited private or public university.
