Pete & Andy's Food Pantry in partnership with St. Peter's & St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Providence, Rhode Island is seeking volunteers to work Saturday mornings. We are a very active food pantry that is open every Saturday morning providing groceries to 160 - 200 families from the 02908 zip code. In addition to our Food Pantry, we also have a Thrift Store selling household goods for a nominal cost (all items are under $5). This is a lot of activity for a church with a small but welcoming congregation. Currently seeking volunteers to work on Saturdays at our food pantry to help distribute food to the community. Flexible scheduling available-- come once a month or every Saturday, whatever works for you! Most volunteers are there for approximately 2 hours, more or less as your schedule allows. We are an inclusive, all welcoming church! www. stpeters-standrews.org/outreach Please reach out to Sarah at (401) 830-0470 (call/text) for more information or need any questions answered. This is COVID conscious environment and we follow state guidelines (mask wearing, social distancing and gloves provided.)

Organization Information
Mission Statement
The mission of Pete & Andy's Food Pantry is to eliminate food insecurity in our community.
Description
Pete & Andy’s Food Pantry is an outreach ministry of St. Peter’s & St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Providence, RI. Our church has been providing groceries to our community since 1970. In 2009 we became an official agency of the RI Food Bank and provided groceries to about 40 families twice a month. Once Covid hit, the Food Bank asked if we would consider opening every week to help combat the high level of food insecurity, especially among minority populations. Despite being a tiny parish with less than 30 members, we said yes. Now, with the help of dozens of volunteers, Pete & Andy’s Food Pantry proudly serves between 130 - 160 families each week.
