About Us: Silence the Shame has an opening for a highly motivated VOLUNTEER Grant Writer. He/she will be responsible for securing grant funding primarily for our mental health programming. Previous experience in grant writing and/or proposal writing is required. Silence the Shame, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating mental health stigma, reducing health disparities, and improving rates of suicide among vulnerable populations. Through community conversations, compelling content, and culturally responsive programs, we aim to normalize the conversation, peel back the layers of shame, and promote mental wellness for vulnerable and disparate population groups, including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer or Questioning (LGBTQ+), individuals in high-stress jobs, older adults and rural communities. Silence the Shame was branded to eliminate the shame and stigma of mental health challenges. Job Overview: Under the direction of the Executive Director, he/she will be responsible for researching, identifying, and securing grants, in support of the organization's programs and initiatives. This role requires excellent research and writing skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain relationships with potential funders and stakeholders. The Grant Writer will work closely with the Executive Director to develop and implement a comprehensive grants strategy that aligns with the Foundation's mission and goals. Responsibilities: Research and identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources. Write and submit compelling grant proposals, applications, and reports that effectively communicate the Foundation's mission, programs, and impact. Collaborate with the Executive Director to gather necessary information and data for grant applications and reports. Develop and maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines, requirements, and reporting obligations. Managing awarded grants, including monitoring and preparing grant applications, reports and deadlines. Build and maintain relationships with funders. Monitor and track grant awards, to ensure compliance with grant terms and reporting requirements, both programmatic and financial reporting. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related field preferred. Previous grant writing experience and/or proposal writing is required. Excellent research, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and proposals. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to build and maintain relationships with grant funders and other team members. Knowledge of grant compliance and reporting requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Silence the Shame is seeking a social media coordinator. Responsibilities Include: Execute a results-driven social media strategy. Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content. Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels. Collaborate with marketing team to create a social media calendar. Monitor social media channels for industry trends. Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments. Review analytics and create reports on key metrics.
