Mission Statement
The Single Parent Support Network strives to encourage, educate and empower single parents to rise up and successfully lead their families to become contributing and productive citizens in our communities.
Description
History: In 2002, Rhonda Thomas, the founder of the Single Parent Support Network (SPSN), memorialized the organization’s framework in writing, creating the foundation for a future helping families in Oklahoma City and all over the country. Signature Programs include:
ReStart Program:The ReSTART program was created to offer support, strategies, and guidance for single parents across the United States. Through small support groups, we are able to connect with single parents, grow personal relationships, and provide targeted resources based on each parent’s unique lifestyle.
Queen For A Day: Queen for a Day was developed for any single mother, adoptive, or grandmother raising children on their own; no matter the circumstance we want to honor you. This day-long event is filled with education, encouragement, inspiration, and pampering to empower women who work so hard to support their children.
Mothers & Sons: Conference and Camp: This moms and sons event is designed to address the issues that single moms face in raising boys. But, the event isn’t only for moms, it will also help the boys and young men deal with issues they are facing without the leadership of a dad in the home.
A Christmas to Remember: This annual event adopts families to receive gifts and food boxes for the holiday season. In 2020, this event went curbside pickup, and served 100 single parent families with gifts, food boxes, wrapping supplies.
