Stoneridge Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to join a caring and loving hospice team that provides care for our terminally ill neighbors in our community. Hospice Volunteers help to combat the pandemic of loneliness and isolation as they serve alongside of Doctors, Nurses, Chaplains and Social Workers. Stoneridge hospice is currently looking for volunteers to provide administrative, office and behind-the-scenes assistance as the lynch-pin to enable the hospice staff to continue to provide the excellent level of care and support that each patient and their family truly deserve. Serving as an administrative volunteer takes place is at your liesure and works around your schedule. It is also a COVID-19 safe and friendly way to continue to serve the community from the safety of our office or your own home. Some potential opportunities include but are not limited to: Answering the phones and assisting callers. Making phone calls to patient's and their families from the office or the comfort of your own home. Assisting with grief support groups, either through leadership, setting up, or providing hospitality and goodies. Assisting with daily office tasks and administration, Sending out mailings, greeting cards, holiday cards, condolence cards, thank you cards and thinking of you cards. Do you have a friendly smile? Are you able to welcome and greet people who come in the front door? Can you answer a phone? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then we need your help! We need folks who can be friendly and welcome delivery persons, guests and visitors to our office and answer our phones with a warm, friendly and welcoming tone to let everyone who calls know how much we care about them. We have a full-time receptionist, however we occasionally need asstance when she is on vacation, out of town or when she is engaged in a meeting away from her desk.

Stoneridge Hospice is a Level 2 We Honor Veterans Organization with the office of Veteran's Affairs. We are looking volunteers to provide the type of veteran-specific support to our military patients and their families need during their hospice journey. Some opportunities for veteran support are: Visiting veterans and providing emotional support and companionship for them and their families. "Last Watch", offering 24-hour vigilance and care for our veterans so that as they come to their final 24-48 hours of life our veteran patients will never die alone without the support of their camrades. Assisting with Veteran Specific grief support groups. Assisting with Veteran community meet and greet opportunities.

We are looking for volunteers who would be comfortable assisting our team in entering and tracking data for our hospice patient's records in their patient and family charts. In order to move to a paperless society, we need to transfer information from paper documents and forms from various visits into our volunteer software and/or checking our medical records and making sure that all of our patient's records have everything they need to be in compliance with medicare guidelines. You would be working behind the scenes to assist our volunteer coordinator, administrative assistant, chaplains and social workers and helping them to be able and more equipped to better serve our patients and their families and show them the love and support that they need.

Costumed Characters are hospice volunteers who will do almost anything to make someone smile! We love to dress up in costumes and visit patients, families and facilities to bring a smile to their face and joy to their heart. To celebrate a holiday with someone and make sure someone doesn't feel alone or left out on special occassions. Some ways that our costumed characters bring Joy to our patients are through: Dressing like: Santa Clause or an Elf at Christmas and visiting patient and facilities to spread Christmas Cheer The Thanksgiving Turkey The Easter Bunny Dressing like a Clown and spreading joy all year round.
