Are you a licensed Barber? Do you enjoy making someone's day? Will you come to UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital and help patients who have been here for a long time? We care for patients receiving lengthy treatments or recovering from a traumatic accident and would benefit from a haircut? Do you want to brighten someone's day, perk them up, help them feel fresh? We need you! Both you and the patient will be masked. Everyone in patient care areas is masked. You will be gloved. You will not care for patients with COVID or any communicable disease. You will need to complete our volunteer onboarding process. We will purchase items needed to support you in your role, except for your own special scissors. We will give you a call when we have a need and ask if you can come within a few days. Please share with us what you need us to provide, to help you help our patients!

Want to make someone smile? We have openings for volunteers in our three gift shop locations at University of Colorado Hospital. Volunteers assist patients, visitors and staff with their purchases They merchandise products while being a guide by answering questions about hospital resources. Want exercise? You will get to deliver flowers, stuffed animals, and other items to patient rooms. You will spend time with patients who may be out of their rooms for the first time in a long time. You may help a new parent choose a gift for their baby or babies! This volunteer opportunity is full of smiles. If you like to make things pretty, helping people smile and having fun, this is the role for you. Merchandising experience? In this role you may assist with merchandising projects as directed by Gift Shop staff. Your 4 hour volunteer shift with either be in the morning or in the afternoon. Support gift shop operations by assisting with the unpacking and marking of new gift shop merchandise. You get to see new things first! Enhance gift shop appearance and increase sales by restocking merchandise from storage areas. You will learn how to place items to enhance sales. Assist with merchandising projects as directed by Gift Shop staff. You may even have an opportunity to learn flower arranging. 20% discount in all shops! 4-hour shift, either morning or afternoon.

Every Tuesday and Friday afternoon, we are hoping to offer a cup of tea and some cookies to our brand-new moms at University of Colorado Hospital. We want to remind them to take a moment, enjoy a warm, comforting beverage and take care of themselves. This volunteer role will happen in pairs. You will gather together the items for the tea cart, offer tea and cookies on the Mom/Baby unit, and then pick up the plates and cups to return to our kitchen. You will need understanding, compassion, and excellent people skills as well as the desire to make that moment "special" for each new mom.

Volunteer in our Level One Trauma Center Adult Emergency Department!!! - Check in on patients to offer smiles, a listening ear, encouragement, blankets, and pillows. Help to give the patient a positive experience. -Answer call lights to determine the patient's need (over 50% of the time the patient's needs are non- medical and can be met by the volunteer) Run needed errands. -Check in on family members and other loved ones who have accompanied the patient. Offer beverages, information, updates, etc. -Help patients through some very difficult experiences! Volunteers needed 7 days each week; shifts 8-12pm, 12-4pm, 4-8pm, 8-12am
