The mission of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated is to provide service for humanity, elevate the plane of nursing and to increase interest in the nursing profession. This mission is accomplished through the: --Encouragement of the pursuit of continuing education; --Recruitment programs for health careers; --Stimulation of a close and friendly relationship among members; --Development of working relationships with other professional groups --Identification of a core of nursing leaders who affect social changes at the national, regional and local levels The Sorority has Programs focusing on health promotion/disease prevention, leadership development, mentoring, recruitment and retention and scholarships.
Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. is a national sorority of registered professional nurses and nurses students founded, October 16, 1932. The charter chapter, Alpha, was organized by 12 extraordinary women at Freedmen's Hospital in Washington, DC, with the two-fold purpose of elevating the plane of nursing and increasing interest in the field of nursing. Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. is guided by the motto "Service for Humanity". The Sorority has Programs focusing on health promotion/disease prevention, leadership development, mentoring, recruitment and retention and scholarships.
