Mission Statement
Colorado Feline Foster Rescue is an all volunteer, all foster-based 501(c)(3), whose mission is to find permanent homes for cats and kittens via a network of foster caregivers, and to provide foster education and training to the feline rescue community.
Description
In July of 2020 three women saw a need for a foster-based feline rescue who would work with kittens and adult cats, sometimes those with medical issues that many rescues would not accept because of medical issues. Colorado Feline Foster Rescue was founded with 50 fosters who followed our president from her previous rescue, believing in our mission. Our goal is to provide foster care, and sometimes medical care, to help reduce the rate of euthanasia at our partner rescues, locally and, at times, from rescues out of state.
Operating an all foster-based rescue allows us to act more quickly and run in a more flexible manner than shelter-based rescues that employ a staff. All of our expenses are directly related to the intake, care and adoption effort of the kittens and cats, as we have no "brick and mortar" overhead expenses. We are greatly supported by our vet of record as well as techs throughout the community.
