Virtual Opportunity
Creating a safe, welcoming, positive and inspiring environment for our volunteers is our priority. Our 60+ Local Chapters across every province in Canada are 100% volunteer run and they work tirelessly each year to ensure that women experiencing or at risk of homelessness in their communities feel cared for, seen and heard. This is what we want to strive to create for them as well. This program is being created to ensure we are doing all we can to support our Volunteer's needs so they can in turn continue to support their communities needs. The Volunteer Recognition Coordinator will be leading the way to help build a strong Volunteer Recognition Program, a first for this organization, that will be tailored to match our volunteer motivations, interests and expectations. This role is for someone that has a tremendous ability to use their leadership and project management experience to get to know what motivates our volunteers, develop objectives and criteria for our new program, choose recognition methods that work for our expansive remote based group, implement and communicate our program launch to the Shoebox community, and can evaluate and make improvements over time to keep the program relevant as it evolves. Most importantly our new Volunteer Recognition Coordinator will lead in celebrating and inspiring our Volunteers through the creation of a positive and supportive culture. We want to foster satisfaction, retention and loyalty so our volunteers are inspired to continue their important work at the local level, and will in turn inspire others to advocate for our cause as well. We want this program to help us build relationships in our communities, express our gratitude to those that lead in their communities, receive and provide feedback, share stories, recognize achievements, reward contributions and MOTIVATE ACTIONS!
