Description

Northeast DuPage Family and Youth Services (NEDFYS) is a community-based organization that provides high-quality mental health counseling and case management services to individuals and families who reside in multi-cultural, multi-racial communities with the highest socioeconomic need and linguistic isolation rates in DuPage County. NEDFYS programs promote good mental health, treat mental health issues, facilitate the development of healthy relationships, and help individuals and families build resilience, and avoid involvement in the justice and/or child welfare systems. To implement these services throughout DuPage County, NEDFYS works in collaboration with local police departments, schools, child welfare agencies, the juvenile court, and other community based entities.

NEDFYS clinicians are available on a regular and 24/7 on-call basis to help officers respond to adult mental health crises, provide short-term counseling to residents, follow-up on all domestic violence calls, provide youth crisis intervention, and family reunification services, and link residents with services to meet basic needs. In addition to our police-based services, therapists also conduct individual and group programs in several area mainstream and alternative schools, at the county juvenile probation department, and in the Illinois Youth Center (juvenile prison) in Warrenville. All of our locations have Spanish speaking clinicians and staff.
