The purpose of Element Education, Inc (EEI) is to develop and operate charter schools which create avenues for "new instruction, new management, and new governance in public schools." The vision is to create model programs for deep and meaningful learning and attract and develop innovative and effective educators who instill the mindset and skills for developing agency in, and ownership of, life-long learning. The mission of its schools is to promote a culture of mastery by offering autonomy (choice, voice, and flexibility) and a sense of purpose for all stakeholders. Each stakeholder (student, parent, staff member) engages in developing personalized learning plans and is provided access to a wide range of resources for their personal, academic, and professional development.
Description
A non-profit organization established in 2001 to manage publicly-funded charter schools offering a personalized approach to learning. Both schools enroll students throughout the entire county of San Diego. Community Montessori serves grades K-8 at learning centers in Escondido, Poway, Santee, and Carlsbad. Dimensions Collaborative serves grades K-12 with learning centers in Mission Valley, Escondido, and Carlsbad. Element Education serves approximately1600 students and employs approximately 130 people while managing a combined budget of nearly $13 million.
