Mission Statement

Community Makery is dedicated to increasing educational equity for underserved youth in Chicago's Howard area of Rogers Park by providing a provides a maker-centered out-of-school learning extension where youth discover, create, and share projects focused on Literacy, Social Emotional Learning & Youth Voice throughout STEAM+ (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math & More) as well as Career & College Exploration.

Description

We are passionate about bringing opportunities to underserved youth. Every child deserves fun-filled learning experiences with meaningful explorations to promote their curiosity about the world around them.

Until every young person has the tools they need to achieve the goals they make, what we are doing is NOT ENOUGH. It really does "take a village" to raise a child. CM is dedicated to rounding up the village to support our youth as they grow and mature, finding their way in the world.

We offer eight AfterSchool Clubs: Engineering, LEGOS Design & Build, Chess, Choir, Inventors, Anime, Coding and a youth favorite, UHC (Ultimate Hard Core) Video Gaming as well as Saturday explorations and community events for youth and their families.
