Mission Statement

The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Our Vision is a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

Description

Alzheimer's is a progressive and fatal disease, which is devastating our families, our finances and our future. As the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research, the Alzheimer's Association addresses this global crisis by providing education and support to the the millions who face dementia every day, while advancing critical research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately a cure.

Nationally over $167 million committed to more than 500 best-in-class research projects in 27 countries. Nearly 300,000 calls made to our free 24/7 Helpline (800-272-3900). Association donors and partners contributed to total revenues of $393 million. Over $98 million raised through Walk to End Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's research funding has more than quadrupled at the NIH since 2015 due to the dedication of the Association and thousands of advocates. Over $90million secured in state appropriations to advance local policies to improve the lives of all affected by dementia.

And in the Central and Western Virginia Chapter 2573 new people were served by our care and support staff and volunteers more than 4370. We supported 457 new people that attended our support groups all more than 1343 times.
