We are dedicated to helping our young people maximize their potential by using the 4 E’s strategy of Education, Engagement, Encouragement and Empowerment. We believe in using media arts as the keys to building a safe, nurturing and creative environment.
Detroit is the 2nd largest Theater Market in America, but many of the residents who live in our city don’t know about the opportunities that Media Arts offer. Que Blackout wants to introduce this opportunity to the young people in Detroit. In addition to opportunities in the performing arts Detroit has over 115 venues that provide entertainment that our young people could be a part of. Detroit is also home of the Big 3 and besides the creative car designers they employ marketing firms and graphic design artist play a big role in the auto industry in Detroit. Our kids are learning that media arts aren’t just for stage but are used in the 100+ graphic design and marketing firms here in Metro Detroit. Besides being the Motor City Detroit also got itself another little nickname of Motown. Music is a big part of the city from Berry, to Seger, to Alice, to the White Stripes, to Slum Village, to Kid Rock, and Eminem. Recording studio and engineers are in high demand in metro Detroit.. Detroit also has 3 major Casinos and home to the College of Creative Studies the Harvard of Art schools. These opportunities aren’t available in most cities so we have to show our young people what media arts can do. We have a great opportunity to challenge and encourage our young people to do great things in a field that the doors are now open to them to show the world we are here. Our kids will be learning hands on from some the industry best.
