Community Crisis Center brings hope to Northeast Oklahoma victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking while working with community partners to promote healthy relationships and end abuse. The non-profit agency is certified by Oklahoma’s Office of the Attorney General.
Community Crisis Center was founded by Mary Jane Waggoner in 1981. The agency opened their first domestic violence shelter in Miami, Oklahoma in 1982. The emergency shelter program has accommodated thousands of victims and their children with advocacy, safety, food, clothing, and supportive understanding. Today the 18-bed shelter and Delaware County, Oklahoma single-family safe house are filled to capacity 350 days a year.
We provide 24-hour advocacy support for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in NE Oklahoma. Our free, confidential services include: Advocacy, Crisis Response, 24-hour hotline, Court Accompaniment, Emergency Shelter, Resource Referral, Legal Assistance, Counseling Support, Housing Assistance, and a Safe House.
