Description
History:
The Christian non-governmental organization was established in 2014 after very long studies and prayers. The study research was done on barriers and facilitators of under development in rural settlements of the districts of Lango region basing on the insurgency that happened in Northern Uganda for well over 20 years.
The founders of Shelter of Smiles Uganda (SOSU) realized that by God’s grace they must put up a Christian non-governmental organization whose aims and objectives would handle transformational development of rural communities of Lango sub region in a holistic manner morally, socially, spiritually, economically and physically. This prompted Pastor Christopher Odongo and Joyce Akullu Aguma as the brains behind the establishment of Shelter of Smiles Uganda, as a concerted effort to address the development challenges and gaps hindering transformational development in stratified rural community of Lango sub region.
Goal: Communities of dramatically improved lives made possible through holistic transformation
