Mission Statement
The Bahá'í Faith is an independent world religion. It is the most recent but not the last of a progressive revelation of Divine guidance that includes Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism. Oneness of God, oneness of religions and oneness of humanity are the crux of the Faith. Bahá'ís are working to transform the world into a spiritual civilization based on oneness, unity, love and service.
Description
The Bahá'í Faith has been present in Salem, OR since the early 1950s. However, it was proclaimed in 1844 in Persia.
The Salem Bahá'ís offer the following: Community based children's classes based on learning virtues such as truthfulness, compassion; Junior Youth Empowerment Programs; Devotionals and meaningful spiritual conversations; Study circles on spiritual topics (such as Reflections on the Life of the Spirit), history of the Faith, the eternal Covenant of God; Ongoing discussions on racism which is considered America's most challenging issue. The Bahá'í Community has also been a longtime supporter of the Marion Polk Food Share. It has been a contributing member of the Oneness Coalition for years.
