Mission Statement

Healthcare Access International Group (HAIG) is incorporated in San Diego, CA. HAIG’s vision is to transform lives through making healthcare accessible and affordable among the underserved in Kenya, across Africa and eventually globally. With the current pandemic situation especially here in the state of CA, HAIG has decided to volunteer and help swab, educate and vaccinate the local community to help curb this pandemic.

Description

HAIG was in Kitale, Kenya in March 2019 for a 5-day mission trip where over 900 patients where seen. Services provided included cervical and breast cancer screening, diabetes and hypertension screening education & treatment, vision screening and treatment, CPR & First aid training, ear nose and throat (ENT) treatment, HIV testing and counseling, woundcare among other services. HAIG’s 2020 trip to Kisumu, Kenya was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Our 2021 trip is on hold for now due to the pandemic situation. HAIG plans to resume it’s medical mission trips in 2022, we intend to visit Kisumu, Kenya.

HAIG has partnered with local organizations in Kenya like AMPATH, and Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists & Dentists Union (KMPDU) in helping to provide medical care and and services to the underserved in Kitale and Lodwar, Kenya.
