Mission Statement

To provide horse-based therapies for children, adults, veterans and public servants including police and fire personnel to facilitate growth, learning and healing to people of all abilities including the disabled, disadvantaged and special needs. We use horses to heal mind and body. We are the only facility that offers hippotherapy, which is physical therapy on a horse, as well as we offer mental therapy with a horse.

Description

At Grand Valley Equine Assisted Learning Center, our mission is simple. We want to provide horse-based therapies to facilitate growth, learning and healing to people of all abilities including the disabled, and special needs. We could not do that without our dedicated volunteers. GVEALC became a non-profit in 2013. We currently have 9 horses, several therapists and quite a few volunteers. We have outgrown our rented space and are in the middle of a capital campaign to purchase historic Moon Farm. We are looking for volunteers that have the time and passion to donate to our organization. This property will help support our mission while we preserve its uses and historic structures. We need people experienced in fund raising, marketing, volunteer management, and it is helpful if you have connections to the community. Help us grow and support our community in the Grand Valley.
