Purpose: To advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership and general promotion of New Life Serenity Center (NLSC) so as to support the organization’s mission and needs. Major Responsibilities: Strategic development and advisory support for the organization Creation and management of policies and procedures Financial oversight, including budget approval and management Guidance on program planning and performance evaluation Personnel assessment and strategic planning for staff development Review and analysis of organizational and program reports Advocacy and promotion of the organization Fundraising efforts and community outreach *Members of the board share these responsibilities while acting in the interest of NLSC. Each member is expected to make recommendations based on his or her experience and vantage point in the community. Length of term: Two years, renewable up to a maximum of three consecutive terms (six years), pending approval of the board Meetings and time commitment: The board of directors meets on the first Tuesday of every month Board members are asked to attend no more than two special events or meetings per year to expand and strengthen our local community Expectations of board members: Attend and participate in meetings on a regular basis, and special events as able. Be alert to community concerns that can be addressed by NLSCs mission, objectives, and programs. Help communicate and promote NLSC’s mission and programs to the community. Become familiar with NLSC’s finances, budget, and financial/resource needs. Understand the policies and procedures of NLSC. Financially support NLSC in a manner commensurate with one’s ability.

This is a flexible 5-10 hour per week role, where you'll collaborate closely with our Executive Director to create lasting change. Your Impactful Role: As the Financial Wellness Program Leader, you will lead a small team of volunteers who serve as mentors for program members. Your mentoring experience and supportive nature will be invaluable in nurturing the growth and success of the women in our program. Your primary responsibilities will include: Inspiring Leadership: Motivate and guide our team of mentors, fostering a positive and empowering environment for program participants. Leading by Example: Serve as a mentor yourself, sharing your expertise and experience to uplift the women in our program. Supporting Volunteers: Regularly check in with program volunteers, providing encouragement and offering assistance where needed. Financial Expertise: If you have experience in budgeting, financial planning, or personal finance, we'd love to leverage your knowledge to help our participants achieve financial stability and independence. Emotional Intelligence: Utilize your high emotional intelligence and empathy to connect with program members, understanding their unique needs and challenges. Your Impactful Role: As a Branch Leader, you will contribute valuable insights that help shape our programs and initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include: Collaborating with team members to outline project objectives and develop strategic plans for program implementation. Identifying best practices and innovative approaches from successful organizations to inform our program development. Participating in team meetings to discuss research progress and align strategies with organizational goals. Role Requirements: Background in leadership, finance, and/or mentorship. Availability during EST office hours for virtual meetings and collaboration. A high level of confidentiality and respect for sensitive information. Role Requirements: A background in social sciences, nonprofit management, or related fields is preferred. Strong writing, research, and analytical skills. Availability during EST office hours for virtual meetings and collaboration. A high level of confidentiality and respect for sensitive information. Familiarity with grant writing and fundraising best practices is a plus but not mandatory.
