Mission Statement

The KCN miniature railroad operates former zoo trains around a 1/2 mile track in Frank Vaydik Line Creek Park from May to October. Train rides are provided for the public to kids of all ages. Days of operation are Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Or you can charter the train for your event on weekdays. $95 an hour and the train is all yours.

Description

We provide a full train experience plus a day at the park for young families. Go home refreshed, not worn out. Doesn't take all day. No sensory overload, $1 per ride - we don't drain your budget.
Formed in 1984 at the request of the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department for the purpose or restoring the original Kansas City Zoo miniature train, our organization began public operations in 1992 in Line Creek Park. Additional trains have been obtained, and other improvements have been made over the years. We are an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit corporation operating as a Kansas City Parks Partner.

Have volunteered here for the past four years. Great volunteer experience with individuals that are dedicated to preserving four 16” gauge outdoor railroad and putting smiles on the faces of children of all ages. The best kept secret in Kansas City and the best 75 cent attraction in the area. Great place for giving back to the community.
