Description

In 1974, Odessa Pennington started Odessa’s Boarding Home, housing about 50 elderly, homeless, and disadvantaged individuals. Odessa’s Foster Care Homes (OFCH) was also founded in 1976 by the late Odessa Pennington. OFCH was incorporated in 1986 and received 501c3 status in 1992 with Odessa Pennington’s daughter, Odessa A. Williamson as the Chief Administrator, a title she still holds this very day.

OFCH’s brick and mortar is currently located at 1324 Mississippi Blvd, Memphis, TN. 38106. Several residential properties are used to support our goal to assist disadvantaged individuals by providing mental, psychological, physical, developmental, substance abuse, and reentry services. The organization began as a provider of food and shelter for the indigent and ministering to the needy, and has now grown to become an approved TN Dept of Corrections RHP, a TN Dept of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services licensed provider, a Mental Health and Substance abuse provider to the Memphis Branch of the Salvation Army, and a Collaborative Partner with the US Dept of Justice to provide Treatment services to Federal Offenders. Since 1986, the mission and altruistic works of Odessa’s Foster Care Homes have expanded to serve thousands of individuals.
