Mission Statement

The mission of Youth Centers for Change, Inc ( I.e Your Center For Change. Inc) to empower at-risk youth and their families in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential and build their community. YCC will create a positive transformation in the lives of individuals through informative, awareness, and prevention education and training. Youth Centers of Change, Inc believes in equality, respect, striving for excellence, and serving others to fulfill a greater need.

Description

Youth Centers for Change, Inc ( I.e Your Center For Change. Inc) is being established to provide community engagement opportunities, development, mentoring, and learning resources for at-risk elementary, middle, and high school youth and their families in the Metro Atlanta area.

program objectives include:

  1. establishing a community garden; for the purposes of educational and nutritional resources; establishment of a mobile food pantry.
  2. recruiting of volunteers
  3. improving the health and activity levels of youth and families in the community measured by several available survey tools

Some of the activities that we plan to include:

  • Gardening lessons, and meal prepping that incorporate easy-to-prepare and nutritious food; healthy eating and nutrition for youth and their families.
  • Teaching group exercise routines suitable for each individual physical condition; health and fitness and wellness resources
  • Personal and Individual development activities.
  • Monthly to Semi- month mobile food pantries for the surrounding community.

Program goals include:

    • Encouraging students to better their communities with community service projects
    • Life skills development
    • Health and wellness; Recreational activities
    • Community Service; Community Building and Development
