Transitions Pet Care is a nonprofit in Atlanta that provides free pet care and support services for the pets of people facing health challenges. Our services include pet care such as dog walking, litter box maintenance, and transportation to and from vet and grooming appointments. We are also a licensed foster based rescue so we're able to help re-home pets when the owner passes. We are currently looking for a Board President to join our team. The Board President will be a leader at our organization, assist with making connections, oversee quarterly board meetings, and assist with strategic planning. All board members are required to pay or raise funds for the organization and assist with growth and strategies needed to help the organization grow and operate efficiently, professionally, legally, and ethically. Previous board experience and willingness to foster required. Must live in the Metro-Atlanta area. We are only 4 years old so this is a great opportunity for people who enjoy helping an organization grow. If interested, please send an email to TransitionsPetCare@gmail.com.

Transitions Pet Care is a nonprofit in Atlanta with a goal to provide free pet care to pet parents who are suffering from a major illness or a disability that prevents them from physically caring for their pet. We believe that by providing pet care support, these owners will be able to continue to enjoy the comfort and companionship of their pets and not have to surrender them to the shelter. We are looking for volunteers to help provide pet care such as dog walking, litter box maintenance, and transportation to pet appointments to pet owners living in Atlanta and immediate surrounding areas. All volunteers must be vaccinated, pass a background check, comfortable going into someone's home, and be 18+ years of age. Experience caring for a pet is a plus but not required. We will provide training. In order to serve the pets of people experiencing health challenges such as a hospital stay or recovering from surgery, we need temporary foster homes for dogs and cats. Transitions Pet Care will pay for the vet appointments, grooming, and medications. We just ask that the foster parents pay for food, treats, and litter. Foster timeframe is usually around 6 to 12 weeks. The ideal foster parent is one who is patient, compassionate, experienced with dogs and/or cats, and willing to provide loving care to these pets which includes daily walks for dogs. We have a big need for people who can foster medium to large dogs and cats. You can learn more about our organization and complete our foster application, please visit us at www.TransitionsPetCare.Org.

Mission Statement
Transitions Pet Care's mission is to provide pet care and re-homing services for the pets of people facing the end of life.
Description
We provide pet care such as dog walking, litter box maintenance, and transportation to and from pet appointments so that terminally ill people can keep their pets even when they're too sick to care for them. We also work with these pet owners to identify a new home for the pet when the owner passes away. If a permanent home is not identified, the pet will go into one of our foster homes. This prevents pets from being dumped in a shelter or euthanized and enable the owner to pass away peacefully knowing their dog or cat will be cared for in a home environment.
