They are the folks who sing at your birthdays, pour your champagne on new years, wash your dishes, and enjoy making others happy. They love doing it! But it comes with the cost of low wages, long hours, little access to health care, and a culture of competition. The lifestyle does not always support physical or mental health. Many of the coping strategies involve avoidance, masking, or self-medicating. In order to enact change, we are looking for a council of like-minded people who love the hospitality industry and want that community to have access to mental health resources. We directly offer peer support and training and have partners to offer clinical support. We need a strong, smart, courageous, and connected council to help us achieve our mission.
