Mission Statement

Our mission at HRY is to ensure access to safe and stable housing for homeless and at-risk students. HRY works to enable youth to complete their education, reunify with their families when appropriate and make successful transitions to post-school life.

Description

HRY is a Maine based non-profit organization seeking to reduce the number of homeless youth in our local community. Our team is working with a nationally recognized approach called the Host Home model. This model matches youths to vetted and trained volunteer homes in order to help the youths stay in their communities.

PROGRAM VALUES

  • Respect for each youth’s dignity and individuality;

  • Appreciation for youth’s strengths, accomplishments, as well as their struggles;

  • Acceptance of their diverse background, and the impact it has on their emotional and mental development;

  • And on the part of HRY, a deep commitment to learning and meaningful development, for the youth in our community, our growing network of host families, and the people who support our work.
