Mission Statement
The purpose of Gardeners for Regional Organic Wellbeing, or GROW!, is to support and expand the local food system while encouraging sustainable agricultural methods in Boundary County. We strive to enhance the availability of local healthy food to our community by providing the opportunity to grow organic food in a community garden and by distributing organic produce to local community groups.
Description
GROW! donates around 2,000 pounds of healthy produce each year to local foodbanks in Boundary County. We also offer leasable garden plots and raised beds to local residents.
In 2019, GROW! started the Little Free Garden project in Boundary County, with support from partnering agencies. We are the first area in Idaho to participate in this national program which promotes gardening and garden education. Much like Little Free Libraries, these small raised beds provide free produce to the local community. Boundary County now has 38 Little Free Gardens, and plans are in place to create more in 2021!
