Mission Statement

The mission of ICC Tempe is to support community development and growth by providing high quality religious, social, educational, and outreach programs that empower Muslims to have a positive impact on the community at large. We are open for five daily prayers attracting over 1500 congregants weekly. Our members represent a diverse demographic including many college students, professionals, working-class citizens, immigrants, and converts.

Description

The Islamic Community Center of Tempe is one of the first mosques in the Phoenix metro area.

Our programs and services include:

  • a fulltime Islamic school
  • end of life services
  • youth programs
  • interfaith dinners
  • Arabic classes
  • social and spiritual advisory for college and high school students/young adults
  • marriage and life counseling
  • marriage ceremonies
  • divorce decrees
  • new Muslim classes

The Islamic Community Center of Tempe is in need of volunteers with specialized skills in grant writing and web development. An opportunity for grant writing research and application processing is currently available. Developing and assisting in updating our website is crucial to our success. Help is also needed in clerical office work, such as filing and answering the phone, scanning, and archiving documents.

As the first step in our volunteer welcoming process, we invite you to attend a volunteer orientation. This will give you a sense of who we are and how you can use your passions and skills to best help us accomplish our service to the community. We’ll review the different volunteer opportunities available and help you figure out what type of volunteer position will work best for you and your schedule.
