Mission Statement

313Reads is dedicated to mobilizing our community to ensure literacy equity so that all children in Detroit are reading at grade level by third grade.

313Reads is a citywide collective impact coalition in Detroit to support children’s language and literacy skills so that all students have equitable access to grade level reading by the end of third grade. 313Reads partners support third grade reading proficiency by identifying and sharing powerful solutions that develop children’s abilities in language and literacy. In order to achieve our goals, we prioritize three focus areas: Early Language and Literacy; Summer Learning; and Early Childhood Education Attendance.
