Joyful volunteers come together to provide smiles and inspiration as they joyfully clean sweep the sidewalks and curb line! Why: Joyful volunteers would help reduce the trash build up by 30% as well as inspiring the homeless people to clean up after themselves. Who: Pasadena-Altadena Community Youth Association's mission is to provide at-risk youth with free sport camps, books and free field trips and a road to do community service. What to Expect: Volunteers will meet together for a short orientation Joyfully clean sweep the sidewalks and curb line pick up all the trash and joyfully engage with our beloved homeless people Make sure all trash bags are put in a pile so L.A. Sanitation can pick up Afterward, take group pictures and do Q&A What's Required: First time adult volunteers joyfully donate $30 for your background check and bring CA-ID Card or U.S Passport Bring sweep broom, work gloves and a bag of sliced oranges Joyfully stay on tasks and joyfully smile a lot We joyfully start on time and joyfully finish on time Have Questions or Need Accommodation? Help clean up Crenshaw Blvd. Why: To beautify world famous Crenshaw Blvd by clean sweeping & bagging trash. This will make this historic boulevard and community sidewalks more pedestrian friendly. Who: The mission of Pasadena-Altadena Community Youth Association is to provide high quality service learning clubs to homeless- at-risk youth so they can learn real time life skills by bridge building with joyful volunteers. What to Expect: Volunteers will receive training and community service hours. Event is also a great opportunity for a photo-op, networking, and partaking in a fun outdoor activity. Sign in at table, short verbal orientation, sweep the public sidewalks and curb line, bag trash, remove vegetation, take group pictures, verbally learn about our 2024 Season of Service. What's Required: Orientation is required. Bring a broom and/or dust pan. Dress comfortably. We ask that volunteers commit at least 1 hour. Joyful volunteers bring cooked food and smiles. As they serve the homeless people, volunteers can also donate their surplus clean clothes, shoes, coats, blankets, tents, socks, and hygiene kits to give out to our beloved clientele. Why: Volunteers will see up close how to help our beloved homeless U.S. Vets and other beloved homeless people living on the Streets of the World's famous Dtla. CA. Who: Our organization provides Agateway for joyful volunteers to serve our beloved homeless US Vets and others who live on the Streets of world-famous historic Skidrow CA What to Expect: Joyful volunteers set up tables and serve the cooked dishes that they brought to donate, take group pictures, and hear about our 2025 service calendar. What you joyfully bring is what you joyfully serve with a smile sweep dining room floors, wipe down counters, and carry out trash services Ensure food is cooked and stored at the correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens Rinse trays before placing them into dishwashers What's Required: Bring food that you cooked.
