WAFA IS LOOKING FOR AN EVENT FUNDRAISING OFFICER Do you want to become part of a global organization that identifies people and initiatives that successfully have solved local environmental challenges of access to clean water, clean air, and nutritious food? Become A Volunteer For WAFA (Water Air Food Awards) WAFA is a volunteer-based NGO headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. Our main activities are to identify, recognize and award community initiatives that address basic needs and collaborate with nature. By doing this, we give a voice to otherwise unknown and unheard heroes. We are looking for an Event Fundraising Officer. As an Event Fundraising Officer, you will be part of a team in raising funds to support WAFA’s mission and work closely with international colleagues! You will be a key contributor in raising funds for our Awards events. You will have exposure to the leadership team and work together with experienced experts. You will be able to add your own skills while being part of a truly impact-making journey. If you are passionate about the environment and if you want to bring in your fundraising skills to help elevate WAFA to the next level, then we have a spot for you! Your responsibilities: Identify potential sponsors aligned with WAFA’s mission, build and maintain a healthy portfolio of said sponsors. Write compelling proposals tailored to the interests of potential sponsors and with a specific highlight of WAFA’s work with the Awards event. Negotiate sponsorship packages and agreements to maximize funding and value for the Award events and WAFA as a whole. Work collaboratively with the event management teams to ensure sponsorship contracts are completed. Build and maintain strong sponsor relationships Track and report on fundraising progress, including funds raised, and sponsor engagement. Closely align with other WAFA senior management, e.g., Chief Fundraising Officer We expect you to: Proven experience in fundraising, preferably within an international change-focused organization Familiar with the Danish culture and business community (nice to have) Excel in project management, prioritizing tasks to achieve fundraising targets and managing multiple projects and deadlines Strong communication skills Capability to build collaborative relationships and network with relevant persons Experience in presenting to different types of sponsors through creating compelling narratives Highly developed, engaging and professional written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholders Strong relationship building and ability to persuade and inspire Knowledge of best practices in Fundraising Fluent in spoken and written English and Danish language (nice to have) You have an availability of 8-12 hours per week It goes without saying that you enjoy working with people and are a team player, and that you are self-driven and well-organized. You will be working remotely and require access to a computer with fast internet connection. We communicate via emails and video calls. By doing this, we give a voice to otherwise unknown and unheard heroes. We are looking for a Head of Finance. As a Head of Finance, you will be part of a team managing our financial activities to support WAFA’s mission and work closely with international colleagues! If you are passionate about the environment and if you want to bring in your finance and accounting skills to help elevate WAFA to the next level, then we have a spot for you! Your responsibilities: Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure in accordance with Danish Tax Law. Ensure the accounts are current and correct. Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions. Make sure the Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure an accurate and timely quarterly and year-end close, as well as statement of accounts and a clean audit. Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of all monthly financial information. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to sponsors. Support budgeting and forecasting activities. Protect WAFA from financial fraud. Support the funding department with detailed or part budgets needed for specific funding/sales activities Provide training to new and existing volunteers as needed. Manage existing and future volunteers in the Finance/Accounting area We expect you to: Have experience or interest in sustainability and our mission. Have an eye for details with an open and creative mind! Be a strong communicator. Be able to work independently. A university degree in Finance & Accounting or similar Sufficient work experience in Finance & Accounting Advanced IT knowledge within the related financial/accounting field Experience in reporting, budgeting and fraud management Experience working with the Danish accounting system Strong in working with financial data Fluency in English language and knowledge of Danish language Be located in Denmark with a Danish CPR number Estimated effort per week: 5-10 hours (flexible according to your schedule) It goes without saying that you enjoy working with people and are a team player, and that you are self-driven and well-organized. As a Grants funding Officer, you will be part of a team in sourcing grants and funds to support WAFA’s mission and work closely with international colleagues! Your responsibilities: Identify opportunities for grants in either EU, country based or other international philanthropic organizations ensuring alignment with WAFA mission Lead the development of compelling, high-quality grant applications, ensuring compliance with the grantors’ guidelines and timelines Manage the grant application process from start to finish, including tracking progress, meeting deadlines, and coordinating internal resources Ensure that all required grant reporting and updates are completed in a timely manner, highlighting project impact and outcomes to funders Track and report on fundraising progress, including funds raised, and sponsor engagement. Key Responsibilities: Develop persuasive and engaging copy for various platforms, including websites, blogs, social media, email campaigns, and ad copy. Create content strategies that align with marketing goals and resonate with target audiences. Conduct market and audience research to identify trends, pain points, and opportunities for content development. Plan and execute content marketing campaigns, ensuring content supports lead generation, engagement, and sales objectives. Collaborate with the design and social media teams to create cohesive and visually engaging campaigns.
