Volunteer Opportunity: Make a Difference in the Lives of Older Adults! Are you looking to give back to your community and make a meaningful impact? Join us at Village in the Ville, located in Clintonville, Ohio. We support and enrich the lives of older adults as part of the Greater Columbus Network of Villages. We’re looking for compassionate, dedicated volunteers who understand that we all have something to give and all of us, at some point, will have something we need. Volunteer Opportunities Available: Companionship & Social Engagement: Spend time with older adults, provide companionship, and engage in fun activities like playing games, reading, or simply chatting. Assistance with Daily Activities: Help older adults with tasks such as grocery shopping, meal preparation, or light housekeeping. Transportation Support: Provide safe rides to appointments, social events, or community activities. Community Event Support: Assist in organizing and running events that promote socialization, health, and well-being for older adults. Handyman: Assist with small home modifications. Tech Support: Help neighbors learn to use their available technology. Gardening and yard care: Help a neighbor maintain their yard, including gardening, weeding, lawn mowing, or leaf raking. Snow Removal: During the winter help clear safe paths for older adults to get out and about. Why Volunteer with Us? Make a Positive Impact: Volunteers are fundamental for ensuring that our older neighbors can age-in-place - that is, in their homes and our community for as long as possible! Flexible Hours: We offer various shifts to fit your schedule. Training & Support: We provide all necessary training and ongoing support to ensure you feel confident in your role. Meet New People: Connect with other volunteers and community members while giving back. Feel the Gratitude: There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing you’ve made a difference in someone’s day. No prior experience necessary! We just ask for a kind heart and willingness to help. If you’re ready to make a difference and bring joy to the lives of older adults, we’d love to hear from you. To sign up or learn more, please contact Timna Haines at 614-404-1521, or Timna.haines@clintonvillecrc.org. www.villageintheville.org

Volunteer with Village in the Ville to help older adults in the Clintonville, Beechwold, and University Districts with their yardwork. Village in the Ville offers yard and lawn care services to older adults in our community so that they can continue to age-in-place - that is, in their home and our community - for as long as possible. We do this by connecting older adults in need of yard help to in-the-know volunteers, like you, who can help them maintain their yard and lawn. So, if you're someone who enjoys gardening, planting flowers, and the spending time outdoors, all while helping to make a difference in your community, then this volunteer opportunity is for you! By sharing your green thumb, you're helping to ensure that our aging neighbors can continue to age in their homes and our community for as long as possible. Not only will you get the satisfaction of knowing you made this difference, you'll also get the satisfaction of friendship, as you'll have the opportunity to get to know those who you're helping! Volunteers may sign up individually or as a small group. Once volunteers sign up, an email with the address of an older adult that needs lawn or yard care and an outline of tasks will be sent. Tasks may include weeding, raking, moving patio furniture or other large items, clearing yard waste, and other similar tasks. Timing is flexible, but volunteers should plan to set aside 2-3 hours for volunteering. Prior to the volunteer date, Village staff will make sure all tools and necessary yard waste bags are at the older adult's home. If you have any questions, please contact William Jones-Kline at william.jones-kline@clintonvillecrc.org or (614) 390-4827. Volunteer with Village in the Ville to help older adults in the Clintonville, Beechwold, and University District areas get to and from appointments, get groceries, and the like. Though many of our older neighbors no longer drive themselves, they still have plenty of places to go. If you're someone who enjoys driving and wants to make a difference in your community, then this volunteer opportunity is for you! By lending a ride, you will not only help an older adult get where they need to go safely, but get to know someone you haven’t met yet. So, take your time, have some fun, break down some barriers and foster a better community today!! To become a freewheelin’ driver, all you need is: A Valid Driver's License Proof of Driver's Insurance To Be at Least 25 Years Old Once you've become a community driver, you'll have access to our volunteer portal, where you can sign up to give rides to older adults in the Clintonville, Beechwold, and University District areas. And for every mile you drive, we'll reimburse you $0.67. Incidentally, if anything were to happen on your drive, you'd be protected under our insurance plan. Trips usually take 1 to 3 hours. You aren’t required to stay for the whole time. You can choose to drop off and pick up, running your own errands in the meantime. If you have any questions, please contact Timna Haines at Timna.haines@clintonvillecrc.org or (614) 404-1521. You can also visit our website at www.villageintheville.org to learn more!
