Description

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services to people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Through its home office and fifty-state network of chapters, the National MS Society provides assistance to over a million people annually in its continuing mission to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

Seeking out and engaging volunteers to the MS cause is at the very core of our business. Each year the Society organizes a series of community events that provide many opportunities for the enthusiastic volunteer. The Society offers three key fundraising activities: The Bike MS Ride, Walk MS and Walk MS Challenge. The Society also engages volunteers to help influence law-makers at the federal, state and municipal levels toward legislation important to people with MS. The Society is looking for passionate volunteers with expertise in areas such as: marketing communications, public relations, corporate and donor development, medical, legal, administrative and organizational expertise.

They made it a rain or shine session which I thought was pretty dangerous for the runners and volunteers.

I volunteered when I lived in Lancaster, PA but never here in NY. I just wish they would have more events in Binghamton for those who either cant drive, like myself and, or, dont have anyone to drive them.We would also like to attend MS events.

This event gave me the opportunity to learn more about multiple sclerosis and what this organization does. At the event, I helped out with setting up. The volunteers were all assigned different tasks making the event possible. I enjoyed seeing so many families and friends who supported their love ones who pasted away, who are struggling, or who are survivors. This event gives hope and I'm thankful that I was apart of it.
