Mondays-Fridays from 7am-5pm, might go later into the afternoons. Saturdays from 7am-5pm, might go later into the afternoons. Helping Hands Hawaii hosts yearly events for programs such as Adopt A Family, Ready To Learn, and annual banquets. Along with participating in charity walks, these events are made to help provide funds for families and individuals who need financial support for rent and utilities, distribute gifts for the holidays, and to make sure keiki are able to receive school supplies before the school year. Volunteers can assist with follow-up calls and providing on-site support during our events. You can meet new people while also utilizing your new skills, whether its from clerical to hands on experience! Helping Hands Hawaii is in need of volunteers who are compassionate, detail oriented, and able to work with computers to assist us in general office work. Volunteer interested in general office assistance will be greeting clients who come by our location or contact programs via phone, filing and shredding documents, conducting surveys, as well as some data entry. Requirements Complete volunteer application Background check Attend orientation and training Volunteers younger than 18 must have adult supervision Office volunteers must provide resume/CV Expectations Absence: Minimum of 24-hour notice to allow for schedule/task readjustment for the day. Volunteering: Must commit 2+ hours per shift. To be considered a regular, volunteers must commit to 4 hours a week for two months or longer. Clothing: Business casual is preferred for office volunteers. Casual clothing is acceptable but should be tasteful and family friendly. Wear close toed tennis shoes. Helping Hands Hawaii is in need in regular volunteers who are interested in WAREHOUSE type of volunteering. Volunteers will sort out items that are donated at our warehouse to determine if the items are able to be used by our individuals and families. Occasionally, volunteers will also help with donors who are in need of assistance with their items in their vehicles as well. Requirements Complete volunteer application Background check Attend orientation and training Volunteers younger than 18 must have adult supervision Office volunteers must provide resume/CV Volunteers must be able to lift 20lbs+ and be detail oriented, reliable, and communicates well. Orientation and training is required for volunteers prior to any volunteering date. Expectations Absence: Minimum of 24-hour notice to allow for schedule/task readjustment for the day. Volunteering: Must commit 2+ hours per shift. To be considered a regular, volunteers must commit to 4 hours a week for two months or longer.
