Mission Statement

Our team is striving to build a strong program to help students improve their math learning and boost their confidence. We believe that math is not about just memorizing formulas, but much more about looking for patterns and trying new approaches. Math is a beautiful subject, and the sooner kids understand this the better. We would like to help students build their love and confidence in math in their schoolwork and beyond.

Description

Math Matters is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization ran by passionate high school students who love to help young students improve their math skills. The program was started as a small tutoring program in 2017 from Foothill Ranch Library and has been expanded to six public libraries and one school as we see the high demands in local communities. Our program currently has more than 100 registered tutors from 20 schools. We have provided on-site service at libraries and added online tutoring since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the course of the past four years, we have helped more than 300 students. Now our program is completely online.
