Our current project is designed to create a pipeline between local restaurants and homeless shelters in Atlanta. Most restaurants dispose of large quantities of food daily, generating unnecessary waste. We aim to collect and distribute this food to local shelters. We are seeking volunteers to help with the coordination and logistics of this program; specifically, to volunteer to transport the food from the restaurants to the shelters. Each volunteer will be assigned a specific restaurant and weekday (to ensure efficiency and reduce the burden of each volunteer). All restaurants are located within a mile of their assigned shelter and all necessary food containers will be provided. We really want to promote the idea of community members creating relationships with the most vulnerable among us! If interested, please get in touch! This is a grassroots movement.
