Description

• My Girls, Inc. was birthed out of my own personal adversities like experiencing suicidal ideation as a teenager, experiencing teenage pregnancy, experiencing Domestic Violence, and experiencing my teenage daughter attempt suicide. It was also birth out of the hurt I see so many girls and women enduring. Therefore, I decided to create an organization that could be a part of the solution. The goal of My Girls, Inc. is to help girls, women, and families not be derailed by personal issues, social issues, or environmental issues. We have created programs to do this. My Girls, Inc. has a monthly Girl Talk session for girls 11-18. It provides the girls with a safe place to express themselves, health coping skills, how to show share and show empathy, and education on Mental Health. The are also program that focus on youth development, life skills, whole health, entrepreneurship, and career exploration. We have a monthly Parent Support Group for parents who are raising a child with a Mental Health condition or Developmental Disability. The support group provides resources, emotional support, education, and advocacy. In addition we have a My Sister Circle meeting and events for women for we discuss business, health and wellness, and issues related to women.
