The mission of 555 Arts is to establish a creative center where artists live, work, and interact with their community in an innovative and educational environment

Description

555 Arts is an important meeting place for artists to network and serve their community. 555 Arts serves a diverse population of artists, their families and community members from the Metro Detroit area, regionally and nationally. 555 Arts programming also interacts with the neighborhood of Poletown East in Detroit and offers a community space for neighborhood families to visit and learn foundry, metalsmithing and blacksmithing practices from expert artists in their community. 555 Arts also serves veterans of the Metro Detroit area suffering from mental illnesses and disabilities with art therapy based workshops. 555 Arts further serves the surrounding arts community by providing access to the metal arts outside of academia, highly trained artists are provided access to co-sourced foundry events.
