During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
The basic goal of the project is to give students individualized help with their school work using volunteers from the community who possess special motivation and qualification.
The tutoring program is sponsored by the Wyckoff Gardens Community Center in conjunction with Wyckoff Houses of the New York City Housing Authority. All tutors must complete criminal background and fingerprinting at NYCHA expense, as well as medical and TB test at tutor's expense. Tutors must submit a resumee and three references as well. That being said, tutoring here should be looked at as more than a passing thought. Potential tutors are encouraged to visit the center and talk with the Tutoring Coordinator, Steve Shooman so as to get an idea if they really want to do this. We are a small program that has been in existance for over 10 years.
