Resilient Young Minds (RYM) Incorporated aims to cultivate the minds of at risk youth ages 13-17 into resilient ones. RYM strives to enhance the ability of adolescents to achieve self-efficacy despite difficult or traumatic experiences through mentor advisement, peer support groups, personal development workshops and enrichment. RYM promotes the evolution of healthy young minds, bodies and souls.
Our Youth Empowerment Seminar Academy is our primary program. 10-30 youth ages 13-17 are selected from a pool of applicants to attend a 3-5 day ( 1 weekend and 3 check-up days) intensive character and self-esteem building workshop including physical, mental and social activities. The purpose of YES Academy is to remove "troubled" youth from their usual environment into one that is peaceful and safe and will empower youth to face their internal conflicts, begin the process to overcome them and convert their trauma into a motivational tool to achieve their professional goals. All youth participants will be provided a mentor to serve as their personal resilience coach for the course of 1 year.
RYM aims to partner with Brooklyn High Schools from September-May to provide personal development to their most at risk youth through weekly character and self-esteem building workshops, tiered mentoring and monthly peer support groups.
