QUICK OVERVIEW We are looking to build a small team of Marketing and Development Analysts and can customize each volunteer opportunity to align with the skills, experiences, and interests of each volunteer. MISSION The Foundation for Senior Services is a 501(c)3 public charity whose mission is to help seniors age well by providing them and their families and caregivers with education and resources to help them choose quality care and maintain independence. The mission is fulfilled through a team of volunteers and the professional experts of the Senior Specialists Group (SSG). IMPACT This role will have a direct impact on the Foundation's ability to grow and provide valuable resources to seniors, their families and friends, and caregivers in our local communities. VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Examples of Operational Tasks: Monthly and other ad hoc communications with the Senior Specialists Group, the experts who are members of the Foundation and provide education, resources, and other services to our community stakeholders Monthly and other ad hoc communications with seniors, family members, caregivers, students, and others who are helping seniors to age well Maintaining the Foundation's website and event calendar Developing and maintaining a master curriculum of the Foundation's educational programming Promoting Foundation events and resources via social media and other channels Developing support materials and providing tactical support to Senior Specialists Group Chapter Leaders (e.g., communications, programming, membership growth) Identifying grant opportunities and managing the submission process for specific grants Examples of Strategic Projects: Analyzing events and other feedback to develop recommendations for expanding the reach and impact of the Foundation's programming Evolving the Foundation's website, social media, and other marketing channels Activating the next phase in the Foundation's call center, a key resource for seniors, family members, and caregivers REQUIREMENTS A passion for supporting our cause of helping seniors age well Experience and expertise in one or more functional areas within marketing, communications, learning & development, and/or fundraising Experience working with senior leaders to drive an organization's mission Strong attention to detail Ability to manage individual work effort and deliver quality work products within agreed timeframes Ability to work in a virtual team with other volunteers, SSG experts, and members of the Foundation's administrative team Ability to commit to a minimum of 3 months for the role, with an expectation of volunteering 3-5 hours each week over that time (schedule is flexible) QUESTIONS? QUICK OVERVIEW We are looking for Administrative Assistant that will have a direct impact on the Foundation's ability to grow and provide valuable resources to seniors, their families and friends, and caregivers in our local communities. MISSION This volunteer role is critical to enriching the lives of seniors across our Southern and Central California communities. The Foundation for Senior Services is a 501(c)3 public charity whose mission is to help seniors age well by providing them and their families and caregivers with education and resources to help them choose quality care and maintain independence. As an Administrative Assistant (volunteer role) for the San Fernando Valley Chapter, you will work directly with 2 Chapter Co-Leaders and manage a set of ongoing operational tasks to administer the Foundation's programming and other services for the Chapter. VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Maintaining the San Fernando Valley Chapter's event calendar, including monthly membership meetings and ongoing public education courses offered as part of the SSG Academy Managing monthly membership meetings, including venue details, communications, follow-up actions, etc. Developing social media and other promotional materials for Chapter Members to promote San Fernando Valley's events and activities via social media and other channels Supporting Chapter Co-Leaders in identifying and attracting new members to join the San Fernando Valley Chapter (and others) of the Foundation for Senior Services Supporting Chapter Co-Leaders in identifying new and manage existing relationships with community partners to increase educational programming and build awareness of the Foundation's services Support Chapter growth and development through various activities, including helping members build their specialist profiles and other marketing efforts, identifying opportunities to engage new services/specialists, enhancing the Chapter's presence on the Foundation's website/social media, etc. Partnering with the Foundation's operations team to manage monthly reporting and other administrative tasks requested by the Foundation on behalf of the Chapter (e.g., membership growth, volunteer engagement, requesters of services) Note: This is currently a volunteer / pro bono role, with the potential to grow into a paid contract role. REQUIREMENTS A passion for supporting our cause of helping seniors age well Strong attention to detail Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Willingness and ability to learn new technology to support administrative activities (e.g., ClubExpress for the website) Ability to develop strong working relationships with Chapter and Foundation leaders (particularly important given that our members have full-time roles as service providers in the community) Willingness to become familiar with support services provided by the Foundation to help build awareness in the community Willingness to commit to a minimum of 6 months for the role, with an expectation of 5 hours each week QUESTIONS?
