Mission Statement
Masks For All NJ (MFANJ) is a sub-branch of a teen-led charitable organization (Masks For All CA) that seeks to champion wearing masks in public by supplying them to the general public at no cost. We are one of the many branches of this organization, with our other chapters being located in other states. We typically distribute our masks via drop-off donations at specific locations around our community, such as churches and senior centers.
Description
Following the disastrous effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, mass shortages of facial masks and other necessities plagued the nation. High School students Michelle Song and Dalya Deuss started Masks For All CA (MFACA) to provide handmade facial masks for those who need it most, at zero cost to them. To this day, MFACA has expanded to several states, including opening a branch in New Jersey. Nationwide, we have donated over 7,000 masks throughout our other locations in New Mexico, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. We drop off our donations to specific locations in New Jersey that are prioritized as "at-risk" communities, such as senior care facilities and volunteers in other non-profits. Fiscally sponsored by The Richmond District Neighborhood Center, we are able to apply and utilize grants to fund our efforts--along with numerous other sponsors.
