Do you want free tickets to arts events around Santa Cruz County? Do you love meeting new people? Do you want to support efforts to broaden access to local music, theater, dance, visual art, and cultural events? If so, then this volunteer opportunity is for you! Over the course of the next year, Arts Council Santa Cruz is partnering with Americans for the Arts, a national non-profit organization, to collect information about the economic impact of the arts in Santa Cruz County. To gather this data, we'll be administering in-person surveys at arts events ranging from music, dance, and theater performances to visual art openings. We need enthusiastic volunteers to go to these events (for free!), make contact with other attendees, and help them fill out the surveys either on paper or on their phones using a QR code. You won't have to collate any data, there's no set up or clean-up, and you'll only be surveying folks before events or during intermissions. You just have to smile and talk to other arts fans! We'll be scheduling a number of Zoom-based trainings and you'll need to attend one before you survey. Then, as opportunities come up to attend events and administer surveys, we'll email you. Opportunities may be on weekday evenings, or weekend days, depending on the project, but you can find ones that fit your schedule. You can choose to survey as many times as you'd like between now and May 2023, when the process ends...though, know that there will be a few special prizes available for the three volunteers who collect the most surveys over the course of the year. Thanks in advance for helping the Santa Cruz arts community! Get Involved...
