Mission: To reach the Ridge for Christ Purpose: Glorify God with all our heart, mind soul and strength. Obey His Word completely. Add to His family daily. Love His children unconditionally. Vision: Our Goal: To reach the lost. Our Mission: To minister with grace and truth Camp Fire Resource and Recovery Center: The Magalia Community Church (MCC) has been operating a Camp Fire Resource and Recovery Center since the first evacuation orders were lifted and portions of the community were allowed to return to The Ridge following the Camp Fire. The Recovery Center has grown from a small 20x20 tent and a portion of the church hall being used, to a center utilizing the original 20x20 tent, the entirety of the church hall, a shower trailer, and a combined laundry/shower trailer. We provide donated food, clothing, shoes, toiletries, household items, furniture and many other items at the Recovery Center. We conducted a needs survey in August that asked the people using the recovery center an open-ended question of their top needs. The results of that survey affirmed that many fire survivors are still in dire need of the most basic necessities as food, clothing, water, toiletries, gas cards, and shoes comprised the top end of the list.
We need volunteers on an on-going basis at our Camp Fire Resource and Recovery Center. We are open Tues-Thursday and Saturday from 11-3. We are most in need of volunteers on the days we are open - but there are people working here Monday-Saturday from 8 in the morning until 5:30 in the evening. We need be to help process donations, stock shelves, hang clothing, organize donations in the tents, be a personal shopper and help monitoring the laundry/shower trailers. Volunteers are welcome to come for a few hours or to spend the day (or multiple days) volunteering with us. For one or two people please just show up and tell us you want to volunteer - we will talk to you about our needs that day and put you to work :-) Please contact us in advance if you have a group that would like to volunteer.
