Join us on Family Volunteer Day, Saturday, November 18th from 10am - 12pm. Get creative with your family and bring holiday cheer to local families. The Adopt A Family project provides food, clothing and toys to 400 of Santa Cruz County's neediest families during the holiday season. Every year approximately 25 families on our list go un-adopted, and we depend on donations from our Stars project to fill the need. We donate any extra gifts we recieve to local organizations that are serving families in need. Here's where you come in....we need your help to decorating gift bags. You can also stop by the Volunteer Center to pick up bags to decorate at home! Don't have time to decorate? You can donate wrapping paper, scotch tape, scissors or other supplies.

This program provides clothing, toys, and food to families in need during the holiday season. Hotline volunteers play a key role in coordinating the adoptions and inspiring donors to get involved! While much of our communication with donors is via email, it is essential that we have volunteers who can assist donors over the phone to answer questions as well as help donors adopt families. When we are caught up on email and phone calls, volunteers also help with data entry, writing thank-you notes and other support for the project. Volunteer Qualifications: Adoption hotline volunteers should be personable, detail-oriented, comfortable using email and enthusiastic about the mission of the Adopt A Family Program. Dates Needed: October 30 - December 16 (closed for Thanksgiving, Nov. 24th and 25th). Shifts: We have shifts Monday - Friday. The morning shift is 10am to 1pm and the afternoon shift is 1pm to 4pm (times can be flexible based on your needs). Volunteers will be trained prior to their first shift and are asked to fill one shift a week, but you can take time off as needed and you do not have to do the same day every week. This is a great opportunity to work with a large organization helping families in need. Get Involved...Select the Red "Express Interest" button below
