During these uncertain times, how can we help?

We strive to educate the public about locally and naturally grown food, increase community access to healthy organic produce, support small local businesses, and provide productive activities and positive sources of income for youth at a time when opportunities are limited.
Despite being considered an affluent county, 40% of families living in Westchester, New York fall below the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) threshold. These families have difficulty buying enough food, let alone nutritious food, to support themselves: a problem that has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only have many families lost their only source of income, but low-income students, who used to depend on schools for a healthy breakfast and lunch, now have a harder time accessing meals.
Our New Way Garden is a nonprofit organization that strives to serve this underserved community by providing them access to locally grown, organic foods. We donate most of our produce to local soup kitchens and food pantries and offer a garden learning program in partnership with Reach Academy, a school for students with special needs where over 90% of students qualify for the free or reduced lunch program.
We currently grow produce in five large food-producing gardens, two corporate campuses, a town park, and a public housing facility. We are an organization run by volunteers and would love your support!
