The mission of HelpAge USA is to advance the well-being and inclusion of older people to reduce poverty and discrimination in later life
HelpAge USA is the only US nonprofit organization that is exclusively focused on the wellbeing and inclusion of older people in low- and middle-income countries. Established in 2009 and based in Washington, DC, HelpAge USA builds awareness among U.S. stakeholders of the unique issues facing older people in the world’s poorest communities; raises money from US funders; and works with our global network to implement programs and policies that reduce poverty and discrimination in later life. We work to ensure that older people are included in international development and have access to emergency relief, financial security, health services, and basic human rights.
HelpAge USA is part of the HelpAge Global Network, a unique worldwide alliance promoting the rights of older people in low- and middle-income countries. The only network of its kind, HelpAge has been empowering older people to lead healthy, secure, and active lives for more than 30 years.
